Michigan lands top-Rated In-State QB Tommy Carr After Flip from Miami (Ohio)
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan football received a significant boost to its 2026 recruiting class saturday with the commitment of Saline quarterback Tommy Carr, who flipped his pledge from Miami (Ohio).Carr,a three-star recruit,is rated the No. 18 player in michigan, the No. 49 quarterback nationally, and the No. 962 overall prospect in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Carr’s decision marks the first commitment to the Wolverines from a player in the state’s current senior class. He recently led Saline High School to a Division 1 regional final, where he overwhelmed Saline with four touchdowns.Earlier this season, Carr made headlines by being responsible for nine touchdowns in a single game.
The addition of Carr gives Michigan two highly-rated quarterbacks in its 2026 recruiting class,joining four-star Brady Smigiel from Newbury Park,California.The Wolverines’ 2026 class is currently ranked No. 10 nationally by 247Sports.
Carr also continues a growing family connection to the Michigan program. He joins true freshman Chase Herbstreit,son of former ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit,on the Wolverines’ roster. Additionally, Carr’s high school teammate, offensive lineman Louis Esposito – the son of Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito - is also committed to U-M as a member of the 2027 class.
michigan has secured four three-star flips in November and currently holds 25 commitments for the incoming class.
