Billy Bolt stormed to victory in the opening Time Trial of the Roof of Africa in Lesotho today,setting a blistering pace and establishing himself as an early favorite in the challenging mountain race.The British rider completed the course in 23:19.3, outpacing Mitch Brightmoore by a margin of 1 minute and 10.4 seconds.
The Roof of Africa is renowned as one of the most demanding motorcycle and quad off-road races globally, testing riders’ endurance, skill, and navigational abilities across the rugged terrain of the Maluti Mountains. This opening Time trial sets the starting order for tomorrow’s first full day of racing,where Bolt’s speed will be crucial as competitors navigate the notoriously difficult course.
Following Bolt and Brightmoore, Marius Roman secured third place with a time of 24:17.6, trailing Bolt by 2 minutes and 8.7 seconds. Alfredo Gomez finished fourth in 25:01.3, while Thomas Scales rounded out the top five with a time of 26:01.9.
