Taylor Swift’s Representative Denies Involvement in ‘It Ends Wiht Us’ Legal Dispute
Taylor Swift is responding to a subpoena issued by the legal team representing director Justin Baldoni in his dispute with actress Blake Lively. A representative for Swift stated definitively that the singer had no creative or editorial input into the film it Ends With Us, despite being referenced in legal filings.
The representative emphasized Swift was not involved in scoring the film, reviewing edits,or providing any notes on the production. Furthermore, Swift did not view the movie until weeks after its public release, coinciding with her ongoing, record-breaking “Eras Tour” throughout 2023 and 2024. The subpoena, according to the representative, appears “designed to use Taylor swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”
the legal battle stems from a lawsuit initially filed by Baldoni against Lively, alleging interference with the film’s distribution. Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Lively was dismissed earlier this month after his team failed to meet a court-ordered deadline for filing an amended complaint following an initial dismissal in June. Lively’s original lawsuit against Baldoni remains active and is currently scheduled to proceed to trial in March 2026. The core of lively’s suit centers on claims related to Baldoni’s public discussion of private conversations and alleged breaches of contract.
