, officially commenced in Sukhum today, November 30, 2025, seeking to identify, train, and promote the next generation of Abkhazian artists. The Folk Stage – Lababa

Sergei Kiriyenko noted that while Abkhazia is renowned as a summer destination, the project demonstrates the country’s hospitality and artistic vibrancy throughout the year. More than 40 contestants, selected through regional auditions, will participate in monthly performances culminating in a final competition next summer.

The project’s founder, actor and director Teimuraz Tania, explained that Folk Stage – Lababa
is designed to provide ongoing training alongside performance opportunities. Reporting concerts will be held monthly, and training courses will be held between concerts. Therefore, our artists will approach each concert more professionally prepared,
Tania stated. The initiative encompasses a diverse range of artistic disciplines, including choreography, vocals, and poetry.
