Steamboat tennis and Pickleball Center Secures Funding, Gains National Acclaim
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO – September 22, 2025 – The Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center is poised for continued growth and impact following the announcement of sustained financial backing and increasing national recognition within the racquet sports community. The facility, a cornerstone of Steamboat Springs’ recreational offerings, will benefit from ongoing support ensuring program accessibility and facility improvements.
The center’s success is notably noteworthy given the surging popularity of pickleball nationwide. This funding and recognition are vital for maintaining Steamboat’s position as a premier destination for both tennis and pickleball enthusiasts, impacting local tourism, resident quality of life, and the broader Colorado sports landscape. The center anticipates expanding programming and enhancing its facilities to meet growing demand.
Opened in 2023, the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center quickly established itself as a regional hub.It currently boasts eight outdoor tennis courts, twelve dedicated pickleball courts, and four indoor courts, accommodating a diverse range of players from recreational enthusiasts to competitive athletes. The facility hosts numerous tournaments, clinics, and leagues throughout the year.
The center’s financial stability is bolstered by a combination of city funding, private donations, and program revenue. Recent support includes continued allocation from the city’s Parks and Recreation budget,alongside triumphant fundraising initiatives targeting local businesses and individuals.
Beyond financial support, the Steamboat Tennis and pickleball Center has garnered national attention. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) recently highlighted the center as a model program for community engagement and facility development. The USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) has also recognized the center’s commitment to growing the sport, awarding it a “diamond” facility rating – one of only a handful in the state of Colorado. This designation acknowledges the center’s high-quality courts, comprehensive programming, and dedication to player development.
