‘South Park’ Returns After Hiatus with Cartman Facing the Antichrist
Comedy Central’s long-running animated series South Park resumed its 27th season Wednesday with a new episode,”Twisted Christian,” centering on Eric Cartman’s potential role in stopping the Antichrist. the episode follows a season-long arc involving a clandestine affair between Satan and Donald Trump, and Satan’s subsequent pregnancy.
A press release revealed Cartman will become possessed and “might potentially be the key to stopping the Antichrist.” A promotional clip released Wednesday showed South Park Elementary staff alerted that “Your students appear to be in some kind of cult involving the number six and seven,” followed by scenes of Cartman, Butters, Tweak, and other students chanting ”6, 7″ with enthusiasm.
The season’s narrative has interwoven events in the fictional South Park,Colorado,with the political happenings in Washington,D.C. This includes a lawsuit filed by a fictionalized Trump against the town and a subsequent public service announcement. The September 3 episode concluded with young girls of south Park, aided by Butters, conjuring a demon through a cursed Labubu doll - a portal through which Satan and Trump emerged.
The following episode focused on the Israel-Gaza conflict and Kyle’s mother, while Trump attempted to terminate his unborn child to preserve his time at Mar-a-Lago.
South Park debuted on Comedy Central in 1997 and is known for its satirical skewering of celebrities,politicians,and current events. The 27th season is proving to be a ratings success, and additional new episodes are scheduled to air on October 29, November 12, November 26, and December 10. episodes will be available to stream on paramount+ and on demand through TV providers following their premiere.
