Shots Fired Near Sydney Gym Prompt Police Response
Gregory Hills, NSW – A man narrowly escaped injury after shots were fired outside a gym in southwest Sydney this morning, prompting a important police response. The incident occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m. at a shopping center complex on Steer Road, Gregory Hills, focusing on the World Gym location.
NSW Police confirmed officers from the Camden Police Area Command were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. Investigators found evidence that multiple shots had been discharged in the direction of a man outside the gym.
“Officers…found a number of shots had been fired towards a man outside the gym,” a police statement read. “The man is believed to have left the scene immediatly.”

A witness, identified as Yvonne, told 702 ABC Radio Sydney she heard as many as eight shots. “They shut the doors, adn we all ran to the back of the shop and waited to see what was going on,” she recounted. “But yeah, it would’ve been scary if you had’ve been out in the car park. It’s all been fenced off, so we had to move our cars.”
