Edinburgh Kiltmaker to Gift Limited-Edition Xbox Tartan Controllers
Nicolson Kiltmakers (GNK), a family-run business based in Edinburgh, Scotland, is giving away two of it’s newly-created, limited-edition tartan Xbox controllers. The collaboration with Xbox presented notable design challenges, requiring GNK to adapt customary tartan patterns to the small scale of a gaming controller while ensuring functionality wasn’t compromised.
The project has generated unexpected interest, bringing new customers to the kiltmaker.”We’ve had gamers, collectors, and people who’d never have thought about tartan before getting in touch about this collection,” said a GNK representative. “The whole collaboration means so much to us…and we’re really proud of how it’s all come together.” GNK is located on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, a historic street in the city center.
To enter the giveaway, participants can submit their details on the Nicolson Kiltmakers website: https://nicolsonkiltmakers.com/blogs/the-kiltmakers-chronicle/win-an-exclusive-xbox-tartan-controller. The deadline for entries is 11:59pm GMT on December 8. Runners-up will receive either an Xbox tartan scrunchie or wallet.
Beyond the giveaway, GNK is also selling a range of other Xbox tartan products, including kilts (priced around $700, currently on sale from $900), trousers, wallets, and hats.
