Osaka Firefighters Die in Osaka Fire,Four Injured
Osaka,Japan – A fire in a crowded tourist area of Dotonbori,Osaka,killed two firefighters and injured four people on Monday,August 18,2025. Teh fire broke out at approximately 9:50 a.m. local time in a multi-lease building near the Ebisubashi bridge,known for the iconic Glico Running Man sign. According to the Osaka city Fire Department, the two firefighters, aged 55 and 22, were found on the sixth floor of the building and died in the hospital. Three other firefighters in thier 20s and 30s, as well as a woman in her 20s, were also hospitalized.The fire spread to a neighboring building, and approximately 110 square meters were damaged. The fire was extinguished after three hours, with the deployment of 51 fire trucks and one helicopter. The Osaka prefecture Police and fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
