Title: Marina Vitalich: LMU Softball Star Honored in LA Sportswalk Hall of Fame

LOS ANGELES – ⁢ Former Loyola Marymount University (LMU) ‍softball standout Marina Vitalich has been selected for induction ​into the 2025 LA⁣ Sportswalk Hall of Fame, it was announced today. Vitalich joins a prestigious group of Los Angeles athletes, including basketball legend Lisa Leslie and fellow‌ Mary Star of the Sea High School alumna Sarah Gascon, as an inductee.

Vitalich’s‍ athletic journey began at Sea High School, where she established⁤ program ‌records for⁢ strikeouts, wins, and ERA. ⁣A three-time Cal-Hi Sports All-State selection and a ⁤2015 MaxPreps All-american,​ she finished among the Top ​10 in CIF-Southern Section history with 1,154 strikeouts.

Her success continued at George​ mason University, where she became an all-time great for ⁣the Patriots. in 2017,Vitalich was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Year – a first for the ⁢program ⁤- and graduated as the program’s all-time strikeout leader with 551. She was later honored as a member of the Atlantic ⁤10 Conference All-Decade Team.

Utilizing⁤ an extra year of eligibility granted due to COVID-19,Vitalich transferred to LMU for a final season. She immediately excelled,earning All-WCC First⁣ Team honors ‌and leading the conference in both wins⁤ and strikeouts. Following ⁤her playing career, she served as a graduate⁤ assistant, contributing to LMU’s first West Coast Conference (WCC) Championship title in 2022.

Prior to her collegiate career, Vitalich represented Croatia‘s National team for nine seasons alongside her​ sister, Amanda. She currently serves as the Assistant ⁤Director of Compliance at Pepperdine University.

Vitalich married Aaron Cymbor in October 2024 and resides in San⁣ Pedro, CA.She is the daughter of Mike and Zulma Vitalich.
