Lia Wälti Joins Juventus After Seven Years with Arsenal
Swiss international Lia Wälti has completed a move to Juventus Turin,ending a seven-year tenure with Arsenal Women. The transfer, confirmed by juventus shortly after Wälti’s farewell message was posted by arsenal, sees the midfielder join the Italian champions on a contract through June 2027.
Wälti’s departure from Arsenal, where she was under contract untill 2026, marks a notable shift for both the player and the club. At Juventus, the 30-year-old will link up with teammates Viola Calligaris and Cristiana Girelli, a key figure in Italy’s recent European Championship campaign. The move provides Wälti with a new challenge in Italy’s Serie A, a league Juventus has dominated, securing six titles in the last eight years, and guarantees participation in the 2025/26 Champions League. Wälti will wear her customary number 13 for the “old lady.”
