KPK too Verify Prabumulih Mayor’s Wealth Report Following Viral Incident
Jakarta, Indonesia – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will review the wealth report (LHKPN) of Prabumulih Mayor Ridho yahya following public attention sparked by his son arriving at school in a luxury vehicle. The review aims to ensure the reported assets align with the mayor’s declared financial standing.
The case gained traction after a video circulated widely online showing the Mayor’s child being driven to school in a high-end car, prompting questions about the source of wealth supporting such displays. This scrutiny comes as the KPK increasingly focuses on preventative measures against corruption, including rigorous examination of officials’ financial disclosures. The agency’s assessment will determine if any discrepancies exist between Mayor ridho’s reported assets and his known expenditures, potentially triggering a more in-depth investigation.
According to the most recent LHKPN data filed on March 22, 2024, mayor Ridho Yahya possesses total assets valued at Rp 17,002,737,046 (approximately $1.06 million USD). A significant portion of this wealth,Rp 5.8 billion, is attributed to land and buildings – specifically 18 properties located in Prabumulih and Ogan ilir, South Sumatra.
The report also details Rp 4.9 billion in transportation assets, including five Hino tronton trucks, a Mitsubishi Colt Diesel truck, two Mitsubishi Triton Double Cabin cars, a John Deere 450j Bulldozer, and three Yamaha 1FDC Solo motorbikes. Additionally, Mayor Ridho reported Rp 202 million in other movable assets, Rp 8 billion in cash and cash equivalents, and outstanding debts totaling Rp 2 billion.
The KPK routinely examines LHKPN filings to identify potential irregularities and prevent corruption.
