Title: Houston Lands No. 1 Center Arafan Diané

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men’s⁤ Basketball program⁢ announced today the signing of Arafan ​Diané, a highly-regarded international prospect, to a⁤ financial aid agreement for the 2024-25 season. Diané, a ⁤6-foot-10 forward from Senegal, joins the two-time defending big 12 ⁢Conference‍ Champions and ‌is expected to add size ‌and ⁣versatility to the Cougars’ frontcourt.

Diané most‌ recently competed with the NBA Academy Africa, showcasing his developing skills against top competition. ⁢He joins a Houston program ⁣coming off a 32-4‍ season and an Elite Eight appearance in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. ‌The Cougars will play 16 home games inside Fertitta ‌Center in the​ 2025-26 season, including nine Big 12⁣ contests.

UP ⁢NEXT: The Cougars return to Fertitta Center to play host to Rider at 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, on TNT. Houston then ‌heads to Las Vegas to compete at the Players Era Championship on⁤ Nov. 24-26, facing ​Syracuse on Nov. 24 and #20/17 Tennessee on Nov. 25.
