Cable Damage at Hamburg Central Station Disrupts Train travel
Hamburg, Germany – October 15, 2025 – Train service at Hamburg Central Station is experiencing significant disruption following reports of cable damage, impacting travel throughout the region. Federal police have stated there is currently no evidence to suggest the damage was the result of criminal activity.
The incident, which began today, is causing delays and diversions for rail passengers. Deutsche Bahn (DB) is advising travelers to check for updates before commencing journeys via the DB Navigator app, the bahn.de website, or by calling travel information at 030/2970. The disruption comes as the rail network also addresses a separate technical issue in the greater Cologne area that led to outages and diversions on Wednesday.
