Retired TNI Officer glenny Kairupan Named CEO of Garuda Indonesia
Jakarta, Indonesia – Garuda Indonesia has appointed retired TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) officer Glenny H. Kairupan as its new President Director, the airline announced following an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) today. The leadership overhaul also includes the appointments of Thomas Sugiarto Oentoro as Deputy President Director, Balagopal Kunduvara as director of Finance and Risk management, and Neil Raymond Mills as Director of transformation, alongside Frans Dicky Tamara joining the board as a Commissioner.
The changes represent a critical step in the ongoing restructuring efforts of the state-owned flag carrier, which has faced meaningful financial challenges in recent years. Approved by shareholders – specifically the Indonesian Government - and overseen by BPI Danantara Indonesia, the reshuffle aims to stabilize and revitalize Garuda Indonesia as it navigates a competitive aviation landscape and works to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
