NEW YORK ​- November 27, 2025 – A giant‍ balloon depicting Derpy, the ⁤blue demon cat from the Netflix hit “KPop Demon Hunters,” soared above Manhattan today as the series made its debut appearance in the 99th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The inclusion marks a growing trend of anime-adjacent franchises gaining prominence in the iconic holiday event.

The ‍Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a New York City tradition as 1924, is renowned for its massive character balloons representing popular film and series titles. This year, alongside ‍established favorites like “Pokémon” (Pikachu‌ and Eevee), “One Piece” (Luffy), and “Dragon ball” (Son goku), “KPop Demon Hunters” joined the​ lineup, signaling the series’ widespread cultural impact.
