Desperate Hunger and Allegations of Deliberate Violence in Gaza
The situation in Gaza is marked by extreme hardship, with reports of widespread hunger and allegations of deliberate violence against civilians. According to accounts from individuals working within the region, the humanitarian crisis is deepening, and aid efforts are severely restricted.
The interviewee details a mass evacuation impacting numerous organizations, forcing a difficult decision to leave behind staff continuing to work in hospitals. Regarding the current state of humanitarian aid, they state management is “left exclusively to the United States (and thus to Israel) through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.” They claim the distribution points have been drastically reduced from approximately 400 to only two, and allege these points have become risky, with “hungry people [being] rid of and soldiers shoot[ing] on the crowd.”
The interviewee reports dire conditions, stating, “My colleagues tell me that they eat once every two or three days, while the children come to swallow sand in order to deceive hunger.” They also claim a complete lack of access to medical supplies. The interviewee believes Israel’s ultimate goal is to confine the population to “so-called ‘humanitarian cities’ in the South,” with the intention of ultimately taking control of the rest of the Gaza Strip, leaving it in ruins. They predict Palestinians will not be allowed to return to their land and will not be welcomed by othre Arab countries. They describe a future where “artificial intelligence systems” will be used to control movement within these cities, with men of combat age being targeted as Hamas members and possibly deported to detention facilities like Sde Teiman in the Negev desert, where they allege individuals are being subjected to torture and left to “rot” until deemed harmless.
