‘family in the Woods’ to Relocate to Villa Following Agreement
VASTO, Italy – November 29, 2023 – The Anglo-Australian Birmingham-Trevallion family, known as the ‘family in the woods,’ has accepted a new home – a villa surrounded by nature – after a period of legal challenges regarding their living situation in Palmoli, italy. The agreement, finalized with the signing of a contract, offers the family, Catherine, Nathan, and their three children, a residence featuring two large rooms including a kitchen, a well for water, a dry toilet, and animal shelters.
The move comes as the family’s lawyers, Marco Femminella and Danila Solinas, presented an appeal addressing concerns raised in the removal order, including the condition of their previous farmhouse and the family’s chosen unschooling method for their children. The lawyers maintain the unschooling approach “has never prevented the children from relating to their peers.”
“As a child I also lived like them,” stated the owner of the villa, according to reports.
Femminella and Solinas also clarified the revocation of their former defender, Giovanni Angelucci’s mandate, citing “critical issues linked to a precise interpretation of procedural segments.”
The family’s situation has garnered public attention, with Deputy Prime Minister matteo Salvini expressing ongoing support. The League party has initiated a signature collection in Palmoli and the four Abruzzo capitals in support of the family. Meanwhile, the Abruzzo ANM plans to meet next week in L’Aquila to demonstrate solidarity with magistrates of the Juvenile Court who have faced criticism and threats during the case.
In a statement, the lawyers emphasized that Catherine and Nathan “have always, and only, had the good of their children at heart,” and that their lifestyle is “the expression of a philosophy of life in which they believed and continue to firmly believe.”
