Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative website Experiencing Technical Issues
WASHINGTON – The Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI), a project of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), is currently experiencing website difficulties, preventing users from directly accessing archived reports dating back to January 2015. Visitors attempting to navigate to specific monthly archives through the website’s dropdown menu are met wiht a “Page not found” error.
the AMTI, launched in 2015, provides critical analysis and geospatial data concerning maritime security issues in the South China Sea and beyond. Its archive is a vital resource for researchers, policymakers, and journalists tracking developments in the region, including China’s activities, territorial disputes, and freedom of navigation concerns. The inability to access this historical data raises concerns about transparency and the availability of crucial data at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions in the Indo-Pacific. While the main AMTI page remains accessible, the disruption impacts access to detailed reports covering events from January 2015 through January 2017, as evidenced by the available archive options within the affected dropdown menu. CSIS has not yet issued a public statement regarding the outage or estimated timeframe for restoration of full website functionality.
