eBay to Acquire Norwegian Resale Platform Tise

OSLO, Norway – eBay has agreed to acquire Tise,​ a leading resale platform in Norway, ​bolstering its ⁣presence in the fast-growing secondhand market. ‍The acquisition,expected to finalize by‍ year-end,will integrate Tise’s customer-to-customer technology into eBay’s existing marketplace adn provide Tise access to ​eBay’s global customer service infrastructure.

Ebay first invested​ in‍ Tise‌ in ‌2022, participating in a NOK 200 million (approximately $18.7 million USD) share‌ issue that valued the Norwegian company at NOK 857 million (approximately $80.4 million USD). That funding round also⁢ included investments ‌from⁢ Bring Ventures and freshly snow climate⁤ investments. This full acquisition ⁢signals eBay’s commitment⁢ to expanding its offerings⁣ in the resale space, capitalizing on increasing consumer demand for enduring and affordable shopping options.

Tise, fronted by co-owner Jenny Skavlan, has become ‍a popular platform for buying and selling used ⁢clothing and ​other items in Norway.‌ The deal ‍is anticipated to enhance eBay’s customer-to-customer capabilities while providing‌ Tise with ⁣the resources to scale its operations and reach a ⁤wider audience.
