Dr. Steven Gundry Reveals Holiday Wellness Strategies Used by Kelly Clarkson & Usher
LOS ANGELES, CA – Wellness expert Dr. Steven Gundry is offering his top tips for navigating the 2026 holiday season, strategies he’s used to help celebrities like Kelly Clarkson and Usher maintain their health. Gundry, founder of The International Heart and Lung Institute and The Centers for Restorative Medicine, advises proactive planning and mindful choices throughout holiday festivities.
Before parties, Gundry recommends eating a handful of hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, or walnuts to curb hunger and avoid overindulgence. He cautions against pistachios, noting they are a natural source of melatonin and “might make you sleepy.”
Hydration is also key, notably when consuming alcohol. Gundry suggests drinking a glass of water between each alcoholic beverage or sipping one drink throughout an event. For those abstaining from alcohol, he proposes sparkling water with a lime slice as a festive option, adding that it “will also help fill you up.”
During meals, Gundry advises prioritizing vegetables. “Fill your plate with a majority of veggie sides and make the carb-rich sides and meat the minor part of your plate,” he says.
Post-meal,a short walk can aid digestion and support weight management, according to Gundry.
Acknowledging that occasional overindulgence is inevitable, Gundry recommends taking chlorophyll and H2 water before bed to help the body “flush out the toxins.” He shares these insights through his wellness platform,GundryMD,and in his book,The Gut-Brain Paradox.
