Vienna, austria – Cuban beach volleyball pair Luis Díaz and Osvaldo Alayo continued their strong start at the Beach Volleyball World Championships, securing a comfortable victory in their second match of the tournament.The win positions them favorably for advancement to the next round, perhaps against a less challenging opponent.
Díaz and Alayo opened the competition with a win and now face a crucial battle for key leadership in their pool. Their success comes as a welcome boost for Cuban volleyball, showcasing the nation’s growing talent on the international stage. the World Championships, held in Vienna, Austria, feature top teams from around the globe competing for the coveted title.
The Portuguese team of Pedrosa and Campos also hold two victories but suffered a loss against Benin in their earlier matches. this places them as strong contenders alongside Díaz and Alayo for the top spot in the group.
Meanwhile, fellow Cubans Damián Gómez and Eblis Veranes, despite two defeats, demonstrated promising performance, even securing a set win against the world-ranked Austrian duo of Hammarberg and Berger (ranked 12th). thay previously faced a tough challenge against Qatar’s Cherif and Tijan, considered strong contenders for the championship. Gómez and Veranes will conclude their pool play against Switzerland’s Haussener and Friedli, currently ranked 32nd.
