Dacia Bigster Tops Cost-Efficiency Rankings in Germany, Outperforming Electric Vehicles
Berlin – New analysis from German automobile club ADAC reveals the upcoming Dacia Bigster is projected to be among the cheapest cars to own and operate in Germany starting in 2025, even surpassing many electric vehicle options in overall cost-effectiveness. the findings, based on a five-year lifecycle and 15,000 kilometers of annual driving, highlight the Bigster’s appeal to budget-conscious consumers amid rising vehicle expenses.
The ADAC study, factoring in depreciation, insurance (RCA and CASCO), maintenance, tires, and fuel costs, places the Dacia Bigster in the top three most affordable cars overall. This positions Dacia as a strong contender in the competitive German automotive market, particularly as consumers grapple with inflation and increasing fuel prices. The results demonstrate that internal combustion engine vehicles, specifically those utilizing alternative fuels like LPG, can still offer important economic advantages.
According to the ADAC calculations, the Dacia Bigster-specifically the hybrid and LPG-powered version-comes in at 42.2 euro cents per kilometer. This secures it the third-place position overall and first place within the medium SUV segment. The ranking places it ahead of the Citroen C5 Aircross (60.6 euro cents/km) and the Tesla Model Y (64.4 euro cents/km).
The top two spots are held by the Dacia Spring (35.4 euro cents/km) and the Toyota Aygo X 1.0 (40.5 euro cents/km).The dacia Duster follows closely behind the bigster in fourth place, at 44.4 euro cents per kilometer.
Over a five-year period, the total cost of ownership for the Bigster is estimated at 31,650 euros, equating to 527 euros per month. This breaks down to 147 euros in fixed costs, 65 euros for service and tires, and 115 euros for operating expenses-primarily fuel (LPG).
