NEW YORK – May 16, 2024 – Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has secured the top spot on the 2024 list of the world’s highest-paid athletes, amassing total earnings of $260 million. The ranking, released today, underscores the continued financial dominance of soccer’s elite and the growing commercial power of athletes across multiple sports.
Ronaldo’s earnings represent a significant increase over previous years, fueled by his move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr and lucrative endorsement deals. This list provides a snapshot of the evolving landscape of athlete compensation, where on-field salaries are increasingly supplemented-and sometimes surpassed-by off-field income.
