Colts Conquer Falcons in Overtime Thriller in Berlin
BERLIN, GERMANY – Jonathan Taylor‘s eight-yard touchdown run in overtime sealed a 31-25 victory for the Indianapolis Colts over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday morning, marking a dramatic comeback win played on international soil. The Colts (8-2) overcame a relentless Atlanta defense that pressured quarterback Daniel Jones into seven sacks, while Taylor delivered a dominant performance, rushing for 286 yards and three touchdowns.
The game, played in berlin, Germany, saw the Colts rally from behind despite a strong showing from Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier, who scored two touchdowns, including one with 1:44 remaining in regulation to give Atlanta a 25-22 lead. However, Taylor responded with an 83-yard touchdown run - the longest of the NFL season – to surpass Hall of Famer Edgerrin James as the Colts’ all-time leader in rushing touchdowns with 65.
Taylor’s performance was pivotal, showcasing his ability to break thru traffic and exploit openings. He finished the day with three touchdowns, marking the third time in his career he’s surpassed 200 rushing yards in a single game. His career high remains 253 yards, set in 2020.
despite the loss, Falcons running back Bijan Robinson contributed 84 yards on 17 carries, while Tyler Allgeier added 57 yards on 11 carries. Atlanta quarterback michael Penix Jr. completed 12 of 28 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown.
The Colts’ victory was also aided by a late-game drive lead by a visibly injured Daniel Jones, who, despite being hit seven times and playing with a bloody mouth, guided his team to the 34-yard line, setting up a game-tying field goal by Michael Badgley with 28 seconds left in regulation. Jones finished the game with 19 completions on 26 attempts for 255 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, along with three fumbles.
The Falcons (3-6) suffered their fourth consecutive loss,while the Colts continue to strengthen their position in the NFL standings.
