One campaign on GiveSendGo set a record for the fastest accumulation of funds on the platform, demonstrating widespread support following the tragedy.
The outpouring of donations reflects the significant impact Kirk, 31, had on many, according to GiveSendGo co-founder and co-CEO Heather Wilson. “When people feel powerless in the face of tragedy, giving becomes a tangible way to express love, solidarity, and care,” Wilson said. The platform also features a prayer button alongside donation options, allowing individuals to offer encouragement even without financial contribution.
Along with GiveSendGo, multiple campaigns have been established on GoFundMe to benefit Kirk’s wife and children, and also to fund the creation of a permanent memorial at UVU, where the shooting occurred. GoFundMe reports verified fundraisers have collected over $12,000 to date, with the platform implementing strict review processes to ensure funds reach their intended recipients and prevent misuse.
