Los angeles Braces for great California ShakeOut Drill on October 16th
LOS ANGELES,CA – Millions of los Angeles residents,businesses,and schools will participate in the annual Great California ShakeOut drill this thursday,October 16th,at 10:16 a.m. The event, a realistic simulation of a major earthquake, aims to increase preparedness for a potential 7.8 magnitude quake on the San Andreas Fault – a scenario developed by leading seismologists and earthquake experts.
The ShakeOut, organized by the Earthquake Country Alliance, isn’t just a drill; it’s a critical exercise in building a more resilient Los Angeles. Participants will practice the ”Drop, Cover, and Hold On” safety protocol, a proven method for protecting oneself during an earthquake.
