by Priya Shah – Business Editor

BasicNet, the Italian fashion group behind brands like Kappa and Robe di Kappa, has acquired swimwear and apparel company Sundek for approximately €33.5 million. The deal, announced December 4, 2025, marks another brand addition for BasicNet following its previous acquisition of Woolrich down jackets.

The acquisition provides BasicNet with a stronger foothold in the sportswear and lifestyle market, diversifying its portfolio beyond its core offerings. Sundek, with a revenue of €6.8 million, will be integrated into the BasicNet group, with the initial payment of roughly €10 million to be made entirely in shares of the Boglione family-controlled company. An additional €5 to €10 million could be paid in the coming years contingent on Sundek achieving specific turnover targets.

BasicNet valued Sundek at €33.5 million in the initial agreement, factoring in the target company’s existing debt. The transaction utilizes existing shares held in reserve by the group. This acquisition signals BasicNet’s continued strategy of expanding its brand presence through strategic acquisitions within the fashion and apparel industry.
