Actor Joey Lutman Embarks on Cross-Country Motorcycle Journey to Support Feline Health Research
WABOV, NJ – Actor Joey Lutman has begun a cross-country motorcycle ride to raise awareness and funds for critical research into chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cancer in cats, two conditions affecting millions of felines annually. lutman’s journey supports the Evergate Health Foundation and other organizations dedicated to improving feline health.
Approximately 6 million cats in the united States are affected by cancer each year, accounting for roughly 32% of cat deaths, according to the Evergate Health Foundation. While CKD is a progressive and ultimately fatal disease, cats can often live for years with proper treatment and care. Lutman’s initiative aims to bolster research efforts focused on early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these prevalent health issues.
The Evergate Health Foundation, established in 1968, has provided over $11 million in grants to cat health research projects in more than 30 international partnerships. The foundation supports veterinarians in conducting studies to enhance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of common feline health problems, awarding subsidies at least twice yearly through an expert review committee.
