Donegal musicians to Headline Six-Date Irish Tour with Contemporary Trad Group 3 on the Bund
Ballybofey, Co. Donegal - Contemporary Irish trad group 3 on the Bund,featuring Donegal musicians Susan Coleman adn Ella McGrory,have announced a six-date tour of Ireland this October. the tour marks a notable homecoming for the band, who have spent years building an international following across Europe, the US, and Asia.
formed at the Irish World Academy in Limerick, 3 on the Bund-Susan Coleman (vocals, concertina), Ella McGrory (piano), Rebecca McCarthy-kent (fiddle), Seán Kelliher (guitar, banjo), and simon Pfisterer (uilleann pipes, flute)-are bringing their acclaimed modern arrangements and vibrant sound to venues across the country. The tour follows the release of their debut album Frenzy and a 2024 live album, with a second studio album slated for spring 2026. This tour offers Irish audiences a chance to experience the group’s unique blend of tradition and innovation firsthand, after years of international performances at festivals like the Rheingau Musik Festival in Germany and the Guinness Irish Christmas Tour in Austria.
Coleman, originally from Castlefinn, and McGrory, from Culdaff, expressed their excitement at performing for a home crowd.The band’s music has garnered praise from prominent figures in the Irish music scene, including Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh of Altan, who described their sound as “Vibrant, energetic, sophisticated, new music based on a heritage that’s deeply rooted and understood.”
