A truffle and local market in Thionville
The gourmet mushroom will be in the spotlight in Thionville. This Saturday, October 16, the city’s truffle and terroir market will bring together enthusiasts, amateurs and curious people around the exhibitors of the Meusienne Association of planters and promoters of the Lorraine truffle. Meet at Place Claude Arnoult from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. for tastings and sales, in order to learn more about this precious mushroom and to glean some tips for storing and cooking it. After a catastrophic 2020 vintage, the year 2021 turns out to be of better quality, with prices per kilo of around 400 euros.
Harry Potter magic invades Amnéville
From Saturday, October 16, there will be a bit of Harry Potter’s world in Amnéville, on the occasion of the event “La féerie du verre”, during which it will be possible to discover the Hogwarts castle reproduced by master glassmakers. On the Parvis de l’Image, young and old will be invited to dive into this new and free event, based on the two highlights of Halloween and Christmas. Born on the initiative of the Arribas company, Disney glassmaker since 1967, the animation will extend over 300 square meters of glass decorations inspired by the Harry Potter universe, through which visitors will be able to stroll. A space that will highlight the technique and know-how of glassblowers, through live demonstrations. Until January 3, different animations will follow one another, to go from Halloween thrills to Christmas magic. At the end of the journey, an official store will offer products from the famous wizarding world, where young and old can get their own magic wand.
