Simply Red Electrifies Krakow Crowd,Celebrating 40 Years of Timeless Music
Krakow,Poland - Simply Red delivered a captivating performance in Krakow this week, igniting a standing-room-only crowd adn reaffirming their enduring appeal after four decades on stage. The concert, organized by Live Nation, showcased the band’s extensive catalog, from early hits to more recent material, culminating in a vibrant atmosphere where,as vocalist Mick Hucknall urged,”Let people dance!”
The band’s setlist spanned their career, beginning with “Sunrise” and flowing through the warmth of “Fairground,” before building to an encore featuring “Something Got Me Started” and the iconic “Holding Back the Years.” Hucknall himself noted years ago, as quoted by Interia Muzyka, that the period of the 1960s and 70s - notably British music - was “an incredible time…that in the following centuries people will refer to this time as the Renaissance.”
“Holding Back The Years,” the frist song penned by Hucknall, proved particularly resonant. According to the report, the song “aroused interest in the group’s work from the very beginning” and, four decades later,”thousands of people around the world cannot imagine their lives without this song.”
Despite being described as an “inconspicuous band” known for pop and radio hits, simply Red demonstrated a musical depth drawing from diverse genres, highlighted by Hucknall’s ”inimitable, emotional voice.” The performance has been hailed as one of the best seen in Krakow in recent years.
