“The Rosenheim Cops”: Marisa Burger is replaced by colleague

Marisa Burger Exits “Rosenheim Cops,” Successor Named

Long-Time Secretary Miriam Stockl Handing Over the Reins

Beloved actress Marisa Burger is set to depart the popular German crime drama “Die Rosenheim-Cops” after a remarkable 25-year run. Her final season as the quick-witted secretary Miriam Stockl will air this autumn, with a familiar face stepping into the iconic role.

A Quarter-Century of Charm

For a quarter of a century, Marisa Burger, 52, has entertained audiences as Miriam Stockl, the administrative heart of the Rosenheim police department. Known for her charm and distinctive dialect, Burger announced her departure earlier this year, expressing a desire to see someone new bring fresh energy to the position.

New Secretary Heralds Fresh Dramaturgical Avenues

“Zdfheute” has revealed that Sarah Thonig, 33, will be taking over the secretariat. Thonig is no stranger to the series, having portrayed Christin Lange at the reception desk for the past eleven years. Her transition from reception to secretary is expected to open up new storytelling possibilities for the show.

“Sarah has been part of our ensemble since 2014 and has won the audience with her authentic, fresh species,” stated ZDF. “Your change of roles opens up new dramaturgical opportunities that we will tell with great attention to detail and the usual humor.”

The series, which has been a staple on German television, is preparing for its 25th season. Reports indicate that Burger left the role voluntarily, seeking new creative ventures after her extensive tenure.

Actor Mark-Alexander Solf, formerly of “Rosenheim Cops,” continues his career beyond the series.

The upcoming 25th season will debut 21 new episodes in the ZDF media library and app starting September 30th, with linear broadcasts commencing October 7th. The show’s ensemble cast remains robust, featuring stars like Dieter Fischer, Igor Jeftić, Baran Hêvî, Michaela Weingartner, Anastasia Papadopoulou, Karin Thaler, Alexander Duda, Paul Brusa, Sarah Thonig, Ursula Maria Burkhart, and Christian K. Schaeffer. Max Müller is also confirmed to continue as Police Chief Michi Mohr, dispelling recent rumors.

The shift in the secretary role comes as the television industry continues to see actors embrace new challenges. For example, in 2023, there were over 150,000 professional actors employed in the United States alone, a testament to the dynamic nature of the performing arts sector (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
