Dwayne “Teh Rock” Johnson Denies Steroid Use Following Visible Weight Loss
VENICE, ITALY – Dwayne Johnson has directly refuted claims he used steroids, responding to renewed speculation sparked by recent photos and a fitness influencer’s assertions. The actor’s denial comes after a period of public interest surrounding his meaningful weight loss for an upcoming film role.
The recent wave of allegations surfaced following Johnson’s mid-June interview wiht Dr. Mark Hyman on YouTube, where he discussed years of battling intestinal problems stemming from antibiotic use and a misdiagnosis of heart artery deposits later revealed to be an anatomical peculiarity. Fitness youtuber greg Doucette subsequently revisited the topic of potential steroid use.
Instagram influencer diagofit then posted a video claiming Johnson had stopped using steroids, leading to his weight loss.Johnson personally responded to the claim, stating, “This is 100% not true.”
Johnson clarified the reason for his conversion at the Toronto Film Festival, explaining he lost approximately 70 pounds (around 30 kilograms) for his role as an elderly character named “chicken Man” in Benny Safdie‘s upcoming film, Lizard Music. The film, based on Daniel pinkwater’s novel, centers on a boy’s encounter with mysterious, music-playing lizards and features Johnson as a reclusive older man who aids the boy.
