the price of motherboards on Intel Z590 will reach 1500 euros

MSI conducted broadcast Tech for the Future, within which it demonstrated motherboards of the flagship MEG series based on the Intel Z590 chipset for Rocket Lake-S processors. The broadcasters reported that the price of the older model MSI Z590 MEG GODLIKE will be 1,000 euros. German ASUS website has published Press release, in which he indicated the recommended cost of the flagship model ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial for Germany and Austria – 1516 euros. Impressive!

At first glance, this may seem like a cruel joke, but, unfortunately, these are the current realities of the market. Both companies attribute such a significant increase in prices relative to the previous generation models by an unstable market situation caused by a shortage of supply of components against the backdrop of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. And if ASUS announced the revision of prices for motherboards in early January, then MSI did it as part of yesterday’s broadcast.

In total, MSI is going to launch 12 motherboards on the Intel Z590 chipset. The youngest model, MSI Z590-A Pro, is priced at $ 189 (€ 185) by the manufacturer. The older version MSI Z590 MEG GODLIKE received a price tag of 1019 dollars (999 euros). In addition, the company also introduced the Unify series motherboards. Their distinctive feature is a very dark color theme.

ASUS unveiled a total of 13 motherboards based on the Intel Z590 chipset. The youngest model, PRIME Z590M-PLUS, costs 189 euros. For comparison, a similar model based on the Intel Z490 chipset can now be purchased in Germany for 165 euros. The flagship of the ROG series, the Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial, is priced eight times more.

One of the main features of the ASUS ROG Strix Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial motherboard is its equipped with a water block manufactured by EK Water Blocks.

ASUS hopes to release all of these motherboard models during the first quarter of 2021, in time for the launch of the new Rocket Lake-S processors.
