According to the newspaper, the suspect was a 40-year-old citizen of Georgia. Together with him, his 35-year-old wife, a native of Russia, was detained.
According to Le Parisien, the suspect was detained last Friday at his home located in the first district of Lyon. The man admitted that he shot the priest.
The publication writes that the attacker explained his actions with suspicions of adultery. He noted that he did not intend to kill the priest.
