About the Author

Roberto Bonetto, born in Brussels on November 20, 1938, joined the editorial staff of the magazine Quattroruote as a collaborator in 1962, while he was a student at the Polytechnic School of Milan. Became a journalist in 1965, he was appointed head of the section devoted to automotive innovations and road tests; Climbing the ranks, Bonetto successively became deputy editor, editor and deputy director. In the 1970s, he collaborated with the architect Angelo Tito Anselmi on the Storia della carrozzeria Italiana (History of Italian coachbuilding) and wrote a volume on rallies for the publisher Sperling & Kupfer. In 2003-2004, following the Encyclopedia Ferrari, the journalist wrote an imposing volume entirely devoted to the activities of the Prancing Horse brand from the 1930s to 2004 (published by RCS). Bonetto left Quattroruote magazine in 2004, starting a collaboration with Gente Motori magazine, then with De Agostini. From now on, Roberto Bonetto teaches at the Polytechnic School of Design and at the Domus Academy in Milan.
