Brutal Assault in Beyoğlu Leads to Murder Charges
A seemingly casual conversation turned deadly in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district, resulting in a fatal assault and a complex web of arrests. The incident, which began with a verbal dispute, has led to multiple individuals facing serious charges.
The Initial Confrontation
The incident transpired on June 16th, in the Beyoğlu Kocatepe neighborhood, around 4:50 AM. Orhan Dogan and three friends were chatting when they encountered Patience T., aged 26.
A disagreement arose between them, prompting Patience T. to allegedly summon others with a phone call. The argument soon escalated into a physical altercation on Tarlabaşı Boulevard. Orhan Dogan was kicked and punched during the attack.
Fatal Injuries and Arrests
Medical teams provided initial aid to Dogan at the scene. Suffering severe injuries, he was transported to Taksim Training and Research Hospital. Despite medical interventions, Orhan Dogan died eight days later.
Beyoğlu Public Security Bureau officers initiated an investigation, apprehending Patience T. and Abdulcebbar B., aged 23. Following statements, the suspects were initially released. After Dogan’s death, the investigation deepened, leading to the identification of more suspects.

Additional suspects, including YK (17), Serdar D. (25), Jesus K. (18), and Sezgin K. (35), were identified through the ongoing investigation. Patience T., Jesus K., and Serdar D. were subsequently arrested and brought before the court.
Criminal Records Unveiled
The court charged the three suspects with “deliberate killing,” leading to their imprisonment. Shockingly, the investigation revealed a total of 82 criminal records among the six individuals involved in the incident. Orhan Doğan, who lost his life, had three prior records.
