The Press and Information Office of the State of Berlin announces:
The Berlin company award goes into the next round. The Berlin Senate and the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Berlin) to apply to companies that are particularly committed to society and beyond their core business in and for the city, even in times of pandemic. Entrepreneurs, companies and associations of companies based in Berlin can now register via the website until May 28, 2021 https://unternehmenspreis.berlin apply. The award ceremony will take place on September 8, 2021.
The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller: “Social commitment by companies is particularly valuable in times of pandemic. It takes place under difficult conditions because many companies themselves suffer from the consequences of the corona-related restrictions. For many associations and initiatives, however, this commitment is crucial right now in order to draw hope, look ahead and do charitable work for cohesion in our city. Anyone who is socially committed acts in an exemplary manner. In the year of the European Volunteer Capital Berlin, we want to set a common sign of recognition for this important form of commitment with the Berlin Enterprise Award 2021. ”
Dr. Beatrice Kramm, President of the IHK Berlin: “Social challenges can only be mastered together. Especially in these difficult times, it becomes clear how important it is for society and the economy to work together. This requires committed and courageous entrepreneurs who take responsibility and volunteer for those people in our society who need support. You donate not only personal, financial or material resources, but above all appreciation and hope. Receiving the Berlin Company Prize is at the same time an appreciation for socially exemplary entrepreneurship and an inspiration for other companies to get involved. Because right now volunteer work is particularly needed. ”
The Mendelssohn Medal is awarded for voluntary commitment, which commemorates the entrepreneur Franz von Mendelssohn (1865-1935). There are two categories: the Mendelssohn Medal for companies with up to 50 employees and the Mendelssohn Medal for companies with more than 50 employees. A jury will select three finalists in each category. The winner of each category will receive EUR 3,000 each, the two finalists in each category will each receive EUR 1,000.
