Thailand Leads Asia with Launch of Advanced ⁤genetic Disease Sequencing Project‍ ‘Life-SeQ’

BANGKOK, thailand – ‍Thailand has become the​ first country in Asia to⁣ implement a complete genetic disease ⁢sequencing project, ‘Life-SeQ,’ utilizing PacBioS HiFi whole-Genome Sequencing technology. The⁤ initiative promises to ‌revolutionize diagnosis and treatment of genetic conditions, ⁢setting a new standard for precision healthcare in the region.

The ‘Life-SeQ’ project aims to provide comprehensive genome‍ data from birth, enabling doctors to identify and address potential health issues with unprecedented accuracy. this collaboration between DKSH Thailand ​and PacBio marks a significant​ step in making high-quality genetic data‌ accessible, particularly in areas where it is most needed, and represents a potential paradigm shift in preventative and personalized medicine for‌ Thai ⁣citizens.

DKSH thailand Technology Business Unit​ Managing Director Kongsak Umukkul ‌emphasized⁢ the project’s importance, stating, “Bringing this technology into Thailand is to create meaningful changes in diagnosis⁤ and treating. We beleive that it will be the new standard of precision health care in the region and helps to improve the quality of Thai people’s lives.”⁣ DKSH played a key role in establishing access to the PacBio genetic sequence platform and assembling a team of human genome experts to support the project.
