The highly anticipated sidescrolling shooter, Terminator 2D: NO FATE, has been delayed. Reef Entertainment and Bitmap Bureau announced that the game, originally slated for a September release, will now launch on Halloween. This adjustment stems from unforeseen challenges in coordinating and manufacturing the physical edition of the game.
Reef Entertainment stated that the delay will provide Bitmap Bureau with additional time to implement final polish, ensuring players receive the best possible version of the game. “From the moment we announced Terminator 2D: NO FATE, the response has been absolutely amazing and truly humbling,” Reef Entertainment shared in a press release. “So, to all of you, thank you so much for your support. We certainly know that this news is disappointing and we appreciate your understanding. We are dedicated to delivering the best release possible for Terminator 2D: NO FATE, and we look forward to sharing more of the game with you soon.”
The game is described as a tribute to 1980s and 1990s arcade games, integrating iconic moments from Terminator 2: Judgment Day with new scenarios and multiple endings. Players will assume the roles of Sarah Connor and the T-800, undertaking missions to thwart Skynet’s plans and the T-1000. Additionally, players will lead the Resistance as John Connor in the future, fighting on the front lines against the machines.
Terminator 2D: NO FATE is currently in progress for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch. pre-orders for the physical collector’s editions are currently available.
