Hamas Forces Clash with Local Clans in Gaza, LeaderS Son Critically Injured
Gaza City – Internal tensions are escalating in the Gaza Strip as Hamas security forces have engaged in armed clashes with local clans accused of collaborating with Israel and involvement in the looting of humanitarian aid. The confrontations, centered in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, have left the son of Hamas political leader Basem Naim in critical condition after being shot in the head.
according too reports from the Quds News Network and Palestinian journalists, the clashes began in recent months and intensified, culminating in shootings this week. The Radea Force,a unit within the Hamas Police comprised of members of its armed wing, confirmed it is pursuing “the vestiges of the (Israeli) occupation and the mercenaries who collaborate with it,” vowing to “continue until security is restored to our beloved Gaza Strip.” Videos circulating online show hooded Radea officers opening fire in Sabra.
The conflict specifically involves clashes with the Dogmush clan, one of the largest families in Sabra, who have been repeatedly accused by Gaza City residents of collaborating with the Israeli Army against Hamas. Accusations also include participation in a system of looting trucks carrying humanitarian aid and reselling the goods at inflated prices.
Further violence saw the execution of local influencer Saleh Al Jafarawi in northern gaza on Sunday, confirmed by the Al Ahli Hospital, which received his body. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
These clashes follow Israel’s recent withdrawal from the gaza Strip as part of a ceasefire agreement, prompting Hamas security forces to pursue militias alleged to have supported Israel during the conflict. The abu Shabab force, operating in southern Gaza, is among those being targeted. Reports indicate at least 27 deaths have occurred since the ceasefire on October 10th,raising concerns about a potential civil war within Gaza.
