MIAMI, FL – A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a fatal collision on the Rickenbacker Causeway last week, authorities confirmed Friday. the crash,⁤ which occurred August 15th, resulted in the death of 53-year-old Fabian Moses,⁤ a Miami resident.The incident has sparked renewed debate surrounding⁣ the use ‍of high-speed ‍electric dirt bikes on public roadways.

According‌ to‍ a Miami ⁢police ‍Department report, Vladyslav Kuchyn, of Sunny Isles Beach, was operating⁤ a 2025 ⁤Surron ultra Bee​ electric dirt bike westbound on​ the Causeway at⁢ approximately 8:30 p.m.The Surron Ultra bee is capable of reaching speeds of up ⁣to ​59 mph,⁣ raising questions about its suitability for‌ shared roadways.

Kuchyn​ collided‍ with Moses, who was⁣ also traveling westbound on‍ a bicycle, heading towards the Brickell neighborhood. Miami ⁣Fire ⁤rescue ‌responded to the scene and transported Moses​ to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he was pronounced​ dead.

Kuchyn sustained head injuries, including a visible black eye, and surrendered to ​authorities in ​Miami-Dade county on ‍Thursday. A minor passenger riding with Kuchyn was thankfully unharmed in the incident.
