TEDi Opens 42nd Belgian Store in Anderlecht
TEDi Claims Ground in Anderlecht
German discount retail chain TEDi has opened its 42nd Belgian store in Shopping Cora in Anderlecht on October 16, 2026, according to a report by Redactie24. The expansion brings the variety discounter closer to its goal of capturing a larger share of the budget non-food market currently dominated by rivals like Action.
A Rapid Retail Rollout Across Belgium
The newly opened Anderlecht branch follows a rapid sequence of recent openings across Belgium. In December 2025, the company launched its 35th Belgian store in Menen. By late July 2026, the store count had climbed to 40 with a new location in Bree. This pace adds seven new retail sites in less than a year, steadily densifying the discounter’s footprint.
Fixed Price Points Fuel Budget Strategy
Shoppers at the new locations encounter an inventory focused on low-priced goods, primarily structured around fixed price points of one, two, or five euros. The product assortment spans home decoration, office supplies, craft materials, toys, party goods, and seasonal items. Current seasonal displays feature Halloween merchandise such as masks priced at two euros, headbands ranging from two to three euros, and decorative pumpkins.

Scaling Toward a 5,000-Store European Footprint
The steady rollout in Belgium forms a distinct segment of a broader European growth strategy. Founded in Germany in 2004, TEDi currently operates more than 3,500 stores across 15 European countries. Corporate leadership maintains a medium-term target of expanding that network to 5,000 total European locations.
Intensifying Pressure on Market Rivals
The aggressive expansion intensifies competition within the Belgian discount retail sector. Established competitors such as Action maintain an extensive network and high consumer recognition for affordable household goods and decorative items. As TEDi continues to scale its physical store presence, consumers face an expanding array of low-cost retail options for everyday household acquisitions.
