NJ Mom Claims 2006 Interview Kickstarted Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce romance
NEW YORK, NY – A New Jersey woman is going viral claiming a seemingly innocuous 2006 interview she conducted with Travis Kelce inadvertently set the stage for his relationship with Taylor Swift. Kristin Zias, a then-aspiring interviewer, asked the Kansas City Chiefs tight end to play “Kill, Marry, Kiss” with Swift, Katy Perry, adn Ariana Grande as options.
Zias’s interview resurfaced online as fans noticed Swift seemingly referenced the game in her 2024 song ”So High school” with the lyric, “Are you gonna marry, kiss or kill me?” Kelce, in the 2006 interview, chose to “marry” Katy Perry and “kiss” Swift, while unluckily selecting Ariana Grande to “kill.” The connection has led to a flood of social media posts crediting Zias with manifesting the couple’s relationship, with many calling for her to be invited to their wedding or even serve as maid of honor.
During the 2006 interview, Kelce responded to the game, stating, “Damn, that’s messed up, I don’t wanna kill any of them,” before making his selections. “Ariana is kill, unfortunately. Love you, but you’re gone. And then Taylor Swift would be the kiss and then Katy Perry would be the marry.”
Zias herself has leaned into the narrative, posting on TikTok, “Me waiting for the entire world to realize I’m the person that interviewed Travis Kelce and started his and Taylor’s love story.” the post has garnered 2.9 million views and numerous comments praising her role in the high-profile pairing.
