Windows 11 25H2 Update Now Rolling Out too Broad Audience
Redmond, WA – Microsoft has begun a wider rollout of Windows 11, version 25H2 – also known as the Windows 11 2025 Update – this week to compatible devices. The update is being delivered to systems with the ”Get the latest updates as they become available” setting enabled within Windows Update.
Users of eligible Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices can manually check for the update by navigating to settings > Windows Update and selecting “Check for updates.” If available, a “Download and install” option for version 25H2 will appear. For those running Windows 11 Home or Pro on unmanaged devices, the update will install automatically, with users retaining control over when the device restarts or the update is postponed.
This release builds upon the ongoing innovation for Windows 11, bringing previously commercially-controlled features into general availability. Key enhancements include the full enablement of AI actions within File Explorer, as well as Click to Do and Agent functionalities within the Settings app.
Version 25H2 also introduces several important improvements for enterprise users. These include advancements in update technology, offering faster device recovery and hotpatching capabilities for Windows clients. Support for Wi-fi 7 has been added for corporate networks, designed to enhance security and reliability in high-density environments.furthermore, IT administrators can now utilize policies within Windows 11 enterprise and Education (version 25H2) to remove pre-installed Microsoft Store apps via Mobile Device Management (MDM) and group Policies, streamlining deployment and reducing overhead.
Before installing via an activation package, devices must be running Windows 11 version 24H2 and have update KB5064081 (or a later update) installed.
