A โขrecent auction at the Prague โคCarโค Festival, โคorganized by Retroโ Garรกลพ, saw nine out ofโค thirteen offeredโ items sold, representingโ aโฃ 70% success โขrate. the โฃhighest bid was โฃsecured byโข a vintage Ace four sporting Solo motorcycle -โ once the world’s fastest – which fetched 2.2 โmillion Czech crowns (CZK) after being estimated โคat 3.7 โขmillion CZK.
otherโข items sold includedโ a Fiatโ 128 3P Berlinetta for 125,000 โคCZK, a Smart โRoadster MTV Editionโ for 250,000 CZK, andโ an Opel Kadett โfor โ6,000 CZK. โBMW models featured prominently, with a BMW 1.8โ CSLโข Artโ Bike โขselling for 890,000 CZK. Several BMW motorcycles – including the R NineT Gaston Rahier Tributeโ and R18 Her โขTributeโฃ – were listed as “not โคauctioned.”
“I’m satisfied that atโฃ least one of the three โwas sold. I was thinking about keeping theโ R18 Henne tribute anyway, so I don’tโข really mind,” said theโฃ former NHL hockey playerโ who โconsigned items to the โฃauction.
Pavel Koฤรญ highlighted the importance of the BMW โseries to โCzech fans, noting the final โคdesign and processing โwere completed in theโ Czech Republic, representing “aโฃ beautiful example of the combination of German technical precision and Czech skill.”
The auction drew collectors,investors,fans,and athletes,with auctioneer Pavel Koฤรญ stating,”The risks are always thereโฆ But it shows that even auctioneers can come โคup with really interesting pieces at grate prices.”
