(MENAFN – Al Wakeel News) News Agency – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the new Odyssey OLED gaming screens during the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2024, the largest technology event in the world organized by the Consumer Technology Association, in Las Vegas next week.

New OLED models meet the demands of the high performance and visual clarity that gamers demand from their displays, and include the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD), Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) and Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD).

The Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49-inch ultra-wide curved gaming monitor with a DQHD (5,120 x 1,440) resolution and a 32:9 aspect ratio, in addition to many other enhanced features. The Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first flat OLED gaming monitor, measuring 32 inches with a 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The two displays feature a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms (GTG) response time.

In turn, the Odyssey OLED G6 screen measures 27 inches with a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 360 Hz refresh rate and a response time within 0.03 ms (GTG).

Hon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, confirmed that gaming platforms have become more diverse in line with the diversity in game types, and said: “Samsung’s new OLED Odyssey gaming screens will empower gamers by providing enhanced and immersive gaming environments.” “In addition to its innovative technology, which will contribute to personalizing gaming experiences, in line with their constantly evolving expectations and desires.”

Technologies that enrich and enhance nuances
The three new models feature OLED Glare-Free technology that reduces light reflections, enabling an enhanced viewing experience without the need for additional hardware, so users can play games with consistent brightness and colors whatever the lighting environment.

And with VESA DisplayHDRTM True Black 400 technology, the displays deliver stunning detail and vivid colors no matter the game or content being displayed. While AMD FreeSyncTM Premium technology enhances ultra-smooth HDR gaming with lower latency.

The new screens also provide comprehensive connectivity, with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB port, and DisplayPort 1.4. While users will also enjoy an optimal display environment with the VESA mount and Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) that features tilt, swivel and pivot control points.

Connected experiences within a comprehensive system
The Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 enable Multi-Device, a new feature that provides seamless device connectivity for an easier and improved multi-device experience. The feature allows users to seamlessly transfer images and/or text between their Samsung display and other Samsung devices, including a Galaxy Book, tablet or phone, for a smoother and more efficient workflow with the mouse and keyboard.

Additionally, the Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 include Samsung’s Smart Things platform. Using the built-in hub function, users can connect to different Matter and Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) compliant IoT devices to control the device.

When changing from work to play, the Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 displays are complete entertainment centers. Equipped with Samsung Smart TV and Samsung Gaming Hub, it provides access to streaming and cloud gaming services without downloads or storage limitations, or the need for a PC or console.

Elegant design to brighten any space
For the first time ever; Samsung provides flat OLED options in the Odyssey lineup, in addition to a 16:9 aspect ratio, for the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6 displays. The new models benefit from the Odyssey OLED range’s unique slim metal design, and also include new Core Lighting+ to fit its slim frame.

Core Lighting+ uses advanced lighting technology to make content vibrant and provide an ideal and personalized gaming experience, by emitting ambient light from the back of the screen.
