SCC & RCC Partner to Expand Healthcare & Culinary Opportunities for Columbus County Students
WHITEVILLE, N.C. - Southeastern Community College (SCC) and Robeson Community College (RCC) have formalized a new transfer agreement designed to broaden access to specialized programs for students in Columbus County. The “Strategic Regional Partnership,” announced November 4th, will allow SCC students to seamlessly transfer to RCC to pursue degrees in high-demand fields.
The agreement focuses on three key programs: Culinary Arts,Surgical Technology, and Respiratory Therapy.Students will be able to complete their general education coursework at SCC before transferring to RCC to complete the specific requirements for these programs.
“This means the world to Columbus County,” stated SCC President Dr. Chris English. “We’ve heard directly from the community and potential students about the need for these programs, areas we currently can’t fully support at Southeastern. We are incredibly grateful to robeson Community College for stepping up to meet these needs, not just locally, but across the region.”
Beginning in the fall 2026 semester, RCC will reserve dedicated spaces for SCC transfer students: six seats per cohort for Culinary Arts, and three seats each for Surgical Technology and Respiratory Therapy.
All applicants to these programs at RCC will be required to meet all established program prerequisites before registration.
