Gemini app Receives Major Updates Focused on Creativity and Collaboration
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – September 2025 - Google has rolled out a suite of new features for its Gemini app, substantially expanding its creative capabilities and collaborative tools. The updates, announced today, encompass advancements in image editing, real-time visual assistance, browser integration, and simplified app growth.
this month’s Gemini “Drops” - Google’s regular update on app developments – center around empowering users with more intuitive and powerful AI-driven tools. Key among these is the widespread adoption of the Nano Banana image editing model, which has quickly become a popular choice for its versatility. Users are exploring a range of applications, examples of which can be found here.
Beyond image manipulation, Gemini is introducing “Gemini Live,” a feature allowing users to share their camera view with the app. Gemini Live will then highlight key areas to focus on, providing real-time visual guidance for tasks. The feature is slated for release on both Android and iOS devices.
Desktop users in the U.S. will soon gain access to Gemini directly within Chrome. This integration will enable users to quickly summarize web pages, clarify complex topics, and find answers based on the content of their open browser tabs.
Collaboration is also being streamlined with the ability to share custom “Gems” – personalized AI configurations – with others. This allows teams and individuals to leverage the same AI expertise for projects and planning.
Gemini’s Canvas app builder continues to evolve, now offering visual editing capabilities. Users can modify web apps created within Canvas simply by clicking on elements and describing the desired changes, eliminating the need for coding expertise.
